We are going to show you few tips on creating some beautiful sashes for both special ocasions but also, as a perfect match for your casual outfits.
We know that you, ladies, are enchanted with the idea of "do it yourself" projects and let's say it, why you should throw your money out when you may find a way to create something valuable with just your own lovely hands?!
So, these being said, we will gather all the materials you need:
MATERIALS
- face cover - about 1/2sqm of that nice fabric from your last beautiful gorgeous dress you love it by example (but it can perfectly be from a fabrics supplier store)
- bottom cover - about 1/2sqm of any hard material, better to be a good hard cotton fabric - it's colour must match the face fabric
- nice handmade flowers (the tips shall be following soon) - about 1/2sqm synthetic satine or silk with colour matching both face and base of your belt
- 1.5 lm of fabric straps - these can be done by yourself at your sewing machine
- any other left overs - buttons, beads or bands that might match your beautiful handmade sash
THE COLOR PALETTE
choose the colour palette you'd like to work with:
HOW TO:
1. face and bottom covers - cut 2pcs of 15/50cm from each fabric
2. straps - cut 2 pcs of 3/50cm from hard fabric
3. sew the straps as in image above then attached them to the face cover and in the end, sew both face and bottom covers
After these simple operations now you have a handmade beautiful sash that should look like this:
You are ready to have all the left overs and of course, the beautiful flowers, sew on it. Proceed to dispose the flowers where you would like to have them pinned out, also the additional beads and buttons if you'd like, too.
